LaSalle Real Estate and Town Centre Info

LaSalle(2010 population 30,000) is a beautiful waterfront community located on the Detroit River known as the "Nautical Mile" in Essex County nicely situated between the City of Windsor and the Town of Amherstburg. LaSalle, among one of the oldest French Settlement areas in Southwestern Ontario, named after the explorer Rene-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle.  Today the Town of LaSalle is a rapidly urbanizing municipality under taking new urban development design concepts, encompassing large green area space for parks and recreational neighbourhood enjoyment.  LaSalle has a large network of bicycle trails, named the "LaSalle Trail", which connects up to hundreds of hectares of natural heritage parks in addition to connecting up to Windsor, Ontario's own "Windsor Trail" network, allowing people to ride from LaSalle all the way to Windsor's Riverfront Trail.

The Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, a $30 million dollar recreation complex erected in 2008, serves as a common hub for social and culture needs for all of LaSalle's residents.  Encompassing twin ice pads, pool with water slides, fitness / sport facilities and conference areas for cultural groups and services situated on 189 acres of land. 

Construction is now under way for a new waterfront park offering fishery spawning, unique under water park for all of Ontario.

One of LaSalle's biggest events is the annual Stawberry Festival, which takes place on the first weekend of June.

For a list of local Elementary schools in LaSalle.  The local public high school in LaSalle is  Sandwich Secondary School, or Villanova Catholic Secondary School.  LaSalle offers a French Immersion program for those who've attended a French grade school.
